**More details**:
We’re looking for someone who thrives in understanding, optimising and supporting others in using IT systems. Ideally, you’ll have experience of using Worktribe, or another research management platform, and be familiar with the external funding landscape for universities and non-HEIs (such as RBG Kew), including an understanding of funders and the approaches they take to grant funding.
You’ll need to be able to take on the role of systems-expert, providing staff with the guidance they need to utilise the platform appropriately. Where optimisation or updates are required, you’ll be able to work methodically and practically to ensure appropriate testing occurs before implementing. You’ll also need to be a great communicator - whether it is providing updates to help documentation, user notes or delivering front-line support to users.
Importantly, you’ll need to also be able to work across Kew with our finance, IT and HR colleagues to ensure the system is integrated and supporting staff and budget management across the organisation. And where necessary work with external partners to access the support and development of the platform to meet Kew’s needs.
While experience of working in a biodiversity-focussed research institution is not a requirement, it is essential you’ll be able to understand your role in the delivery of Kew’s Science Strategy 2021-2025 and beyond.
The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction. Our mission is to understand and protect plants and fungi for the well-being of people and the future of all life on Earth.
We are working to end the unprecedented extinction crisis and to help create a world where nature is protected, valued by all and managed sustainably. We will achieve these goals by drawing on our leading scientific research, unrivalled collections of plants and fungi, global network of partners, inspirational gardens at Kew and Wakehurst, and our 260 years of history.
Join us on our journey as protectors of the world’s plants and fungi.
The salary for this position is £36,338 - £41,747 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience [Band D]
Our fantastic benefits package includes opportunities for continuous learning, a generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, an Employee Assistance Programme and other wellbeing support such as cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership. We also offer a competitive pension, an employee discount scheme and free entry into a wide range of national museums and galleries, as well as access to our own beautiful gardens at Kew and Wakehurst.
No agencies please.
