At Heaven Support Services, we house young people within our small nurturing environments and help them to integrate back into the community. We have a vacancy for a Maintenance worker to join us on a part time basis (24 hours a week) and flexibility to occasionally work on weekends. You will be responsible for the overall presentation and upkeep of our homes and office and will help to create an environment that is safe and enjoyable for all. You’ll carry out a variety of maintenance jobs with mínimal supervision ensuring compliance in all areas. The work is varied and of a practical and hands-on nature and will involve working on numerous projects at one time.

Responsibilities will include:

- Carrying out necessary inspections that will identify repairs or maintenance requiring attention

Fitting and repairing fire doors
- Decorating in a number of areas including wallpapering and painting.
- Fitting/ repairing bathrooms and kitchens
- To undertake the maintenance of the garden as required.
- Be available to carry out tasks requested by the manager
- Adhoc repairs as required, ensuring a safe and comfortable living space for our residents
- Assemble new furniture
- Ability to offer and implement new ideas both inside and outside the home
- A basic understanding or experience in general building works including carpentry, plumbing, electrical
- A good understanding of the Health and Safety principles
- Good and accurate record keeping experience
- The ability to work independently
- Carry out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home and ensuring that external checks are carried out within the agreed timeframe

**Essential**: To be a driver, previous experience of carrying out repairs
- For the above post, induction, training supervision and the appropriate support will be provided._

**Job Type**: 24 Hours per week Salary: £25,000 per anum [Pro rata]
