37.5 hours per week
**Do you have experience of working within a purchasing environment? Are you comfortable in communicating with suppliers on regular basis? We are recruiting for one of our key clients and this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to join this fastgrowing business.
Job Responsibilities**:
- Negotiate the placement of purchase orders with regards to price and delivery with existing suppliers.
- Expedite items ordered in line with the companies required delivery dates.
- Instigate route course analysis and corrective action for non-conforming suppliers.
- Ensure suppliers are meeting agreed KPI’s, Identifying, highlighting & escalating as required any nonconforming products or services.
- Identify and propose potential new suppliers within specified commodities.
- Actively participate in departmental improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with both internal customers and stake holders.
- Maintain the accuracy of the stock control system records and reporting functions for both manual and electronic processes.**
**Key Skills / Experience**:
- Good experience of working within a busy Purchasing office.
- Have experience of purchasing negotiation techniques.
- To be effective and confident at expediting parts and services.
- Have strong numerical skills and must be able to analyse reports and react to changes accordingly.
- To have a high level of attention to detail.
- Computer literate (a good understanding of MS Office including Excel and Word are essential).
- Highly organized, able to multitask and prioritize.
- Maintaining relationships with current suppliers while seeking new potential suppliers.
- Some travelling in the UK may be required.
