**We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Support Worker to enable this young person to access age-appropriate leisure activities in the local community. The support may also on occasion take place at the family home where he loves to play on his Xbox, Nintendo Switch and with Hornby Trains.

**Additional Duties**
- You will be required to administer medicine 3 times per day via his Gastronomy tube, which is also how he receives his nutritional needs and water. Full training will be provided.
- Supporting with his splints/shoes which need to be put on, helping with his posture when seated and using his wheelchair, as well as essential use of the hoist
- You will need to learn how to successfully communicate with him, as he is nonverbal.
- All personal care support is also required.

**Hours** 7 hours per week - Saturday or Sunday - may change from week to week.

**Rate of pay -**£13.74 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer.

**Person Specification**
The successful applicant must:

- Have experience and a positive understanding about children and young people who have disabilities
- Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with complex needs
- Have a high degree of initiative
- Be punctual and reliable as the young person cannot be left unsupervised
- Be flexible
- Have a happy, positive and caring nature
- Respect confidentiality

Full, clean driving licence required and must be insured for business use.
