Your role will not only be to represent bioprocessing within projects, but also to provide a contribution to the company's growth strategy, capability building and business development activities.

From the initial brief, you will deep dive into the client's problem and, working alongside the wider engineering team, propose solutions which have Biology at the core. - Research new cutting-edge technologies and markets
- Participate in concept generation and problem-solving workshops
- Evaluate ideas using evidence from modelling (e.g. metabolic flux analysis) or empirical evidence
- Provide an input into detailed designs or solutions, from system to molecular level
- Wet lab work, including researching and establishing new protocols
- Involvement in all stages of a project from planning through to final analysis and iteration, including design, implementation, and evaluation of experimental programmes

**What we will be looking for from you**:

- Degree or PhD level, involving a significant level of microbiology and industry experience to be able to hit the ground running from your first day
- In-depth understanding of microbiology, fermentation and the problems companies are facing, when using biology to manufacture chemicals, materials, foodstuffs and other industrially important outputs
- Superb communication and presentation skills along with the ability to use scientific first principles to solve complex problems
- Able to create, propose and prototype biological solutions alternatives, in the context of a multi-disciplinary system
- Experience gathering and analysing computational/empirical data to gain insights into performance
- Any experience of Industrial bioprocess development, Hands-on omics, Hands-on microscopy work or Biochemistry would be very useful

The **Benefits** on offer are some of the best that you will find:

- Salary reviewed annually
- Company profit share
- Generous pension
- Hybrid working, with flexible working hours and location
- Life, disability, private healthcare and travel insurance
- Enhanced family leave
