Food Services Supervisor

**The Role**:
Nottingham Girls’ High School seeks an enthusiastic and qualified Food Services Supervisor to be a key part of our school's commitment to providing excellent service and care in food service. Here, you will oversee daily food service operations to ensure high standards in catering for students, staff, and visitors. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll supervise a team of food service assistants to provide a safe, clean, and efficient food service environment while supporting school events and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

You will also assist with the preparation, presentation and service of attractive, healthy varied meals for students, staff and visitors. There is also an expectation that together with the rest of the catering team, you will assist in the supporting of additional school events for which overtime is paid.

**Hours/work schedule**:The hours are set for this role from 10.30 to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday (30 hours per week). Whilst this is a term-time only position, there is a requirement to work an additional 10 days during the school holidays for which you will be paid, for training and deep cleaning. This is a non-negotiable part of the job.

**Salary**:The salary advertised is the Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) - pro rated, your annual salary will be £17,725 per annum, paid over 12 months..

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise food service assistants, ensuring efficient and effective catering operations.
- Maintain hygiene and safety standards in all food preparation and service areas.
- Assist the Head Chef with scheduling and training staff to meet daily service needs.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by conducting weekly customer journey checks and handling any complaints.
- Manage stock control and assist with the ordering of goods.
- Ensure proper set-up and clean-down of service areas before and after school activities.
- Support school events and liaise with other school departments to coordinate catering needs.
- Oversee security, ensuring proper locking and safety measures are in place for catering facilities.
- Supervise compliance with health and safety policies, including COSHH and fire safety procedures.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Essential: Supervisory experience in hospitality or a similar trade.
- Essential: Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
- Essential: Physically fit and able to manage the demands of the role.
- Essential: IT proficiency for maintaining records and managing food service software.
- Desirable: Trade qualifications in hospitality and supervisory certification.
- Desirable: Experience working in an educational environment.

- Flexibility and willingness to work outside regular hours to support school events when required for which overtime will be paid.
- Team oriented with a hands-on approach to supervising daily operations.
