**Payroll Manager/ Multiple Payrolls/ Project Support/ 9 Month FTC/ Team Management/ System Implementation**
I am looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to fulfil an initial 9 Month Fixed Term Contract. This is a business-critical role that will work alongside the Payroll Project Manager to implement a new payroll software system across 5 Payrolls. The PayrollManager will be responsible for Managing a small team of 6 Payrollers to ensure that the full payroll function is delivered in a timely and complete manner throughout the process - Working with the project manager to train the team on new processes.
- Provide a high-quality payroll service across five business - working closely with all associated Finance Teams
- Provide leadership to the payroll team (6 people), supporting & coaching team members on new processes and systems.
- Ensure the accurate processing and payment of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, commissions, overtime, bonus, allowances, deductions, taxes and third party payments.
- Establish monthly payroll reporting and error tracking across all payrolls, Providing analysis and resolution plans as required
- Ensure all payrolls are compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies
- Ensure all HMRC reporting is completed accurately and effectively across all payrolls
- Liaise with auditors to manage payroll tax audits
- Ensure the team provide a quality query resolution service to all colleagues
- Ensure all contributory pension schemes, group income protection, group life assurance and salary sacrifice schemes e.g. childcare vouchers, are effectively administered
- Collaborate with People team colleagues, IT support team and accounting teams to ensure that the information sources and data is of the utmost accuracy and that all key stakeholders have required information
- Support the Payroll Project Manager in the development and implementation of the Payroll Transformation plan
- Provide expertise and leadership surrounding system design and business rules
- Working with the Payroll Project Manager to develop the end to end payroll controls and governance mechanisms
- Develop the service provision as part of the system transformation
- Lead the payroll team through the transition and embed the new ways of working with the team post implementation.
**Requirements**:
- Substantial experience of operating in senior in-house multiple payrolls
- People management experience
- Experience of leading a team through change / transformation
- Previous experience of using Sage payroll/ Mitre Finch/ ADP software is highly advantageous
- An excellent leader who can work under pressure whilst coaching, supporting and enabling the team
- Sound knowledge of payroll procedures and related legislation
- Strong Excel skills, to include data manipulation and reporting
- A comprehensive understanding of pensions, in particular auto-enrolment.
- Professional payroll certification (CPP, CPM) is desirable but not essential
- Process driven individual with previous experience in Project roles
