Builders Merchant Company Ltd is an independent merchant with 4 branches across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, with ambitions for future growth and development of further branches. We are a fast paced, heavily energetic company with a drive and determination to succeed. The company has grown from 1 branch to 4 over the last 5 year period, tripling its turnover in the process, and was recently voted as the ‘New Merchant of the Year 2020’ by the Builders Merchant Journal.

To continue this growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Internal Sales Trainee to join our Scunthorpe team. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the successful applicants will learn how each aspect of the business works, to gain a strong understanding of products and the sales process, and to progress to become an essential member of the branch team. Your working hours will be 7.30 - 17.00 (42.5 Hours) Monday to Friday, and once trained 1 in 3 Saturday morning 7.30 to 12.00 on a Rotation basis.

Responsibilities to include:

- Learning all aspects of sales, which include telesales and trade counter
- Stock control / purchasing from suppliers
- Contributing towards the achievement of sales targets, and in time being responsibile for some smaller accounts.
- Develop personal product knowledge
- Gain an understanding of the operational processes throughout the company
- Basic administration
