**The role**
**What will you be doing?**
To provide professional and high-level customer service and be the primary point of contact for employees, managers, leavers and applicants for HR enquiries across the Unum UK business
We support hybrid working, we would like this person to attend the Dorking office twice per week, with the remainder of the week working remotely
**What will you bring?**
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Applies excellent understanding of the interdependencies with all facets of HR to include Workday to ensure business processes are efficient, accurate and compliant.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) and adhere to all organizational and department specific policies, procedures, and SLAs.
- Capable of working in a small team, in a role with responsibility for day-to-day administration, providing support to end users, and facilitating and improving business process flow.
- Own responsibility for confidentiality, data integrity, ensuring its validity, accuracy and timely entry into the applicable HR system(s).
- Articulates and maintains HR standards, inform management of issues that require attention and suggest opportunities for improvement.
- Conducts all business process and/or systems testing required in support of upgrades, enhancements, and or new work activities.
- Strong commitment to helping others by displaying genuine interest in resolving queries within first resolution point and minimising the need for further follow up on queries.
- Consistently makes an independent business decision in response to demand.
- Support the wider HR team and the Head of HR Service Delivery UK on projects as required.
- Ensure the continued protection of Unum’s information, by following all applicable Information Security policies and procedures and by reporting suspected weaknesses in information security controls to the Information Security Officer.
- Understand how Conduct Risk, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) Risk Management and Solvency II systems of Governance relate to both the role and the divisional activities and highlight any opportunities for improvement.
- Comply with Unum’s Code of Conduct and other Company Policies and Procedures as appropriate to the role.

- Ability to use discretion, exercise good judgment and resourcefulness, tact, diplomacy and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Experience in a customer service or support environment
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to be able to break down a problem, situation or process into its component parts, to separate the main issues from side issues, to understand the nature of parts and their relationship to one another.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong listening skills and ability to be emphatic to customer needs while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Strong time management and organization skills to schedule time effectively and use efficient work methods and tools.
- Team player who works effectively with colleagues to achieve targets and objectives.
- Ability to work under pressure, remain calm, objective and controlled in responding to urgent or demanding situations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, case management systems. Preferred experience with Workday desired.
