Adair Support specialises in providing semi-independent support for young people aged 16 to 25 as they transition toward independence. Our mission is to empower young people to develop life skills, maintain a safe and healthy environment, and build confidence for their future.
**Role Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated **Semi-Independent Support Worker** to provide day-to-day support to young people in our nurturing homes. This role involves assisting with independent living skills, maintaining a safe home environment, and ensuring documentation and reporting are completed accurately through the company’s system.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Support and Guidance**:
- Provide practical assistance with daily tasks, including meal preparation, budgeting, cleaning, and managing appointments.
- Offer emotional support to help residents build confidence and manage challenges.
- Encourage and promote independence while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
**Monitoring and Documentation**:
- Record daily logs, complete weekly reports, and ensure home health and safety checks are conducted.
- Use the company’s system to maintain accurate records and documentation in line with policies and procedures.
- Report safeguarding concerns promptly and professionally to the appropriate channels.
**Environmental Checks**:
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections of the home environment to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identify and report maintenance issues or hazards that may affect residents’ well-being.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, external agencies, and families to ensure residents receive holistic support.
- Attend team meetings and participate in training sessions as required.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Basic IT skills to manage electronic documentation systems.
**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People, or a related field (or willingness to work towards this).
- Previous experience working with young people in supported or semi-independent living settings.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Enhanced DBS check (provided by the organization if not current).
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts (8 AM - 8 PM) both including holidays (weekdays/weekend only shift options is available).
