We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Repairs Surveyor to join our team on a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.

This role will be providing additional support to our recently formed External Contracts and Delivery team and is a great opportunity to help and support the Platform ambition to build more homes and invest in our existing properties.

You will be managing the quality and effectiveness of responsive maintenance across a locality, ensuring Platform meets customer expectations, statutory and regulatory obligations and will maximise planned investment where possible. You will also be providing technical advice on complex repair issues and escalations.

Some things we need from you

You should have considerable experience in Housing and/or Construction industry and be educated to degree or HND level equivalent

Experience of Social housing and positive engagement with customers to resolve difficult issues

Have a sound knowledge of construction and provision of maintenance services and experience of managing contractors to deliver responsive and void maintenance services

Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to programmes of works and maintenance

Knowledge of Human Habitation Act and Disrepair obligations as it relates to Platform repairs services

You should be tenacious in the pursuit of repairs problems whether they are technical or complex service or customer-related issues, to resolve to the satisfaction of Platform and its customers

This is a varied role where you will regularly liaise with customers and contractors so you should have strong interpersonal and influential skills with a strong commitment to customer service. You will also be self-motivated and organised and be able to consistently deliver under pressure.

Although this role is home based, it is essential to have a full UK driving license and the ability to travel around properties within our Witham locality (Please see attached maps highlighting the locality and stock numbers in this area). Your business mileage will be reimbursed as per the inland revenue mileage rates.
