Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant.

Full Time
- 6 month Temporary Contract.

39 Hours

**Job location**: Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.

Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union

Working within UK Finance to control UK Bank Account and AP ledgers for multi sites. The role will evolve to include more management accounting as the system and procedures improve.

Essential

**Responsibilities**:
Cash Management for xxx MALUK locations

Responsibility for sterling and foreign currency cash book accounting across all MALUK sites

Responsibility for AP, supplier payments and supplier recs at XXXX MALUK locations

Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for review.

Co-ordination of Intercompany Functions.

Drafting of Accruals and Cash Predictions

Preparation of reports for Internal Stakeholders

Improve department policies and procedures and ensure appropriate documentation

Support with the annual external and internal audits as required

Development of the ERP system to improve department efficiency

Assist and support other members of the Finance team to provide support and holiday cover.

Assist with adhoc tasks as required alongside Financial Controller and Management Accountant

Skills/Knowledge Requirements

**Academic**:
Good standard of education at GCSE/A Level

**Professional Accreditations**:
AAT Qualified / 1 st Stage ACCA or CIMA or Qualified by Experience

**Experience**:
Previous working experience within a busy finance department, preferably manufacturing, is essential.

**Key Competencies**:
Evidence of the ability to work within a team whilst developing and improving the department policies and procedures.

Other skills/Abilities/Personal Attributes

**Skills**:
Evidence of systems and procedure improvements within previous finance roles.

Evidence of IT proficiency, with experience of ERP systems desirable.

**Abilities**:
Ability to add value as a member of the finance team through working initiative.

**Personal Attributes**:
Must demonstrate a ‘can do’ approach by being proactive.

Excellent communication skills due to the close liaison with customers.

Hands on approach with ability to understand processes.
