The project is a tailored preparation for work and work experience initiative delivered across secondary schools in Pembrokeshire, with a primary focus on strengthening work placements and cultivating meaningful relationships with local businesses.

The project is designed to enhance the employability and transferable skills of Year 11, 12, and 13 pupils (15-18 year olds) transitioning to the post-16 world of work or work focused learning.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Fostering Employer Relationships:

- Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships with local businesses, non-profit organisations, government agencies, and key players in various key industries in Pembrokeshire.
- Collaborate with employers to understand their needs and facilitate the integration of work placements that align with the project's goals and the pupils' learning objectives.
- Maintain ongoing communication with employers to ensure a positive and mutually beneficial relationship.

Work Placement Coordination:

- Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of potential work placement opportunities, building on existing connections and continuously expanding the network.
- Coordinate the placement process, including eligibility criteria, scheduling, and the assignment of workplace mentors.

Enhancing Employability Skills through Work Experience:

- Collaborate with project’s Skills Advisers to align work placements with the employability and transferable skills curriculum.
- Ensure that work placements contribute significantly to the development of key skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management. Evaluate the effectiveness of work placements in enhancing pupils' employability and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Supporting Careers Advice and Pathway Development:

- Work in conjunction with Careers Wales school-based Careers Advisers to align work placements with pupils' career aspirations.
- Establish a streamlined pathway for pupils to access face-to-face careers advice, emphasising the role of work placements in shaping their career choices.
- Facilitate 3-way meetings between pupils, school-based Careers Advisers, and employers to ensure a cohesive and supportive approach.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant experience in employer liaison, business development, or a related field. Strong networking skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships with employers and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the needs and expectations of businesses in relation to work placements and skills development.
