Seven Criminal Justice is delighted to be working with an exceptional client, who has some exciting NMP opportunities available in the Northampton area. Our client is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic RGN or RMN (Nurse/Pharmacist) Independent Non-MedicalPrescriber with a V300 qualification.

The Role:
We're looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and solution focussed individual that can therapeutically engage service users in order that they can move through their recovery. Experience of working within substance misuse services is desirable but not essential,as the Clinical Leads are able to provide you with structured training and support.

Key Responsibilities of an NMP:

- Assessing patients, either voluntary or those referred through the criminal justice system, carrying out screenings, triages and full comprehensive assessments as required and making onward referrals to specialist agencies, where necessary.
- Providing assessment and ongoing management of substitute prescribing for patients in liaison with pharmacists and central prescribing doctors
- Assessing the risk and ensure a safe and appropriate environment for all through the prevention and management of abusive and aggressive behaviours
- Testing for substance use and feedback to individuals and services where appropriate
- Providing harm reduction advice and information to patients in a variety of settings
- Organising the effective development of new referral pathways and partnerships with local statutory and voluntary sector agencies as necessary
- Acting as an advisor for non-clinical team members in relation to the health care needs of patients attending the service
- Participating in training of new staff and students, to act as a mentor for student healthcare professionals placements
- Attending multi-disciplinary team meetings and providing clinical advice and guidance to inform decision making.
- Participating in Audit and quality assurance initiatives
- Actively seeking out patient needs of the local population and be involved in health promotion for individuals and groups
- Ensuring that a vaccination and blood testing programme is carried out in accordance with relevant Patient Group Directives and clinical protocols agreed by Together and local NHS authorities
- Prescribing medication including controlled drugs for patients and contribute to the development of supplementary pharmaco-therapy within services
- Assessing and delivering a range of pharmaco-therapeutic and detoxification intervention as part of the patients recovery plan
- Providing relevant information and advice on HCV and other blood borne viruses in manner consistent with recognised clinical practice to existing and potential injecting drug users and their partners on a regular basis
- Carrying out basic Health Check for patients
- Developing and reviewing recovery plans for patients and if required, arrange inter-agency referral or joint-worked recovery-focused packages of care for them
- Working with colleagues to develop and deliver post-detoxification aftercare packages to maximise opportunity for patients progress towards recovery
- Conducting regular case management reviews with service users on caseload and to contribute to clinical reviews with other prescribing colleagues
- Promoting healthy lifestyle and assess HAV/HBV/HCV/HIV risk behaviour, working with patients to reduce these risks by ensuring appropriate advice and support is given.
- Promoting recovery from dependency as the ultimate aim of treatment interventions
- Contributing to, and comply with, clinical governance arrangements within Together, both organisationally and locally within the recovery partnership's operating area.
- Fulfil the professional expectations required of a registered pharmacist by the General Pharmaceutical Council or registered nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Council,. This will include taking every opportunity to expand one's own practice in line withthe principles contained within the professional accountability and undergoing individual performance management to establish training needs and using clinical supervision as a means to update practice.

Applicant Requirements for an NMP:

- Qualifications: A Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) or registered Pharmacist (GphC) qualification & Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
- Experience: Substance misuse experience.
- Hours: Full time Mon - Fri 9-5
