RMS are currently recruiting for an exciting new opportunity within our clients Procurement team for a Lead Buyer.

Reporting to the Procurement Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing efficient support to your assigned business areas and projects, ensuring goods & services are procured at the best possible price, quality and delivery.

You will manage all procurement activities including contracts, materials and services to meet the requirements of the business, as well as having line management responsibilities for a small team.

**Key Duties and Responsibilties**
- Promote and monitor compliance with good procurement policies and best practice ensuring probity and ethics across the business, working alongside other support functions including Legal, Finance & HR.
- Co-ordinate with all sites to support general and Capital and Project Procurement activities.
- Manage, develop and engage assigned reports, being clear about job and team requirements, monitoring and addressing development, performance & welfare actions.
- Manage and develop contracts for goods and services giving consideration to contract strategy, commercial structure, terms and conditions of contract, and cross site efficiencies and initiatives
- Comply with purchasing systems and procedures, ensuring value & quality added goods and services are procured.
- Manage and maintain the invitation to tender processes.
- Develop contracts considering terms and conditions, structure, strategy and cross-site initiatives.
- Effectively work with assigned project teams, internal customers and the Procurement team to develop and improve contracts, terms & conditions, structure, strategy and performance.
- Contract management, including identifying supply chain efficiencies and supplier performance issues.
- Provide ongoing contract management with nominated technical representatives and customers to support the successful achievement of projects. Effectively communicate ideas & info helping understanding.
- Contract process ownership including invitation to tender and post contract management
- Understand customer needs & provide consistently excellent service and the ability to adapt and work effectively across all situations.
- Liaise with the relevant departments in the pre-qualification of all suppliers.
- Portray the position of Procurement Lead, positively & professionally, taking responsibility for personal outcomes within job responsibilities and is focused on achieving results
- Actively improve, develop and enhance new & existing skills, learning from past experiences and adapting behaviour in response to feedback.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Working towards or fully qualified Member of CIPS (MCIPS)
- Experience of contract development & administration including: Terms and Conditions, Structure, Strategy, Cross business asset co-ordination, Performance monitoring, Problem resolution.
- Contract management including: Identification of supply chain efficiencies & performance issues, Liaison with nominated technical representatives.
- Knowledge of Project & Capex purchasing support.
- Experience in the management and administration of invitation to tender processes.
- Awareness of procurement systems, procedures & systems development.
- Knowledge of ethical purchasing principles & practices.
