Our programme facilitators are our front line team, delivering innovative and exciting programmes with young people across our network of schools, colleges, businesses and community organisations.
Our EDI & Racial Justice project, which the successful appointee will lead, aims to create an impactful platform where young people have the power, influence and connections to drive change on equality, diversity and racial justice. This project includes delivering one-day ‘EDI Changemaker Days’ in schools and colleges, plus a 9-month ‘Changemakers Academy’ programme for 30 young people passionate about EDI & Racial Justice.
**Key Responsibilities**:**Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke student leadership programmes**
- Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke student leadership programmes for individual education trusts, schools and colleges. This will involve building programmes that meet the individual needs and priorities of the commissioning organisation as well as the students’ themselves.

**Organise, plan and facilitate bespoke EDI programmes**
- Work with 5 targeted schools, targeted based on their socio-economic profile, to deliver a one-day ‘Changemakers Day’, each reaching 100 young people.
- Each Changemaker Day will create the space for young people to explore EDI & racial justice, enable them to better understand power and influence in their communities, followed by building their own in-school campaigns alongside an Unloc mentor.
- Incubate 30 young people passionate about EDI & Racial Justice through a ‘Changemakers Academy’ programme.
- The 9 month programme will give participants the skills, knowledge and networks to understand, influence and build power.
- Participants will be recruited with a focus on diverse voices - especially those from lower socio-economic groups, care experienced and LGBTQ+.
- The programme includes 4 immersive weekend experiences over a year (one residential); Understanding Power, Influencing Power, Building Power and Creating Change.
**Work in partnership with key stakeholders**
- Liaise with key stakeholders to work in partnership with and promote Unloc’s work. This will include Local Authorities, Education Trusts, Businesses and Community Interest Groups.
**Provide regular updates to management**
**Provide additional support and opportunities for students**
- Provide support and additional opportunities for young people you work with where possible.
**Support other Unloc projects**
- Aid other Unloc projects as and when required by the team (in consultation between you and your line manager).
**Person Specification**:**Qualifications**
Essential:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C / 9-4 (or equivalent).
- Two A-Levels at grade A*-C (or equivalent).
Desirable:
- Level 2 ICT qualification.
**Experience and Knowledge**
Essential:
- Previous work with young people.
- Previous experience of working in the business world and/or self employment (in some way).
Desirable:
- Previous knowledge of the education sector.
- Previous experience of stakeholder management.
- Previous knowledge and experience of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda.
**Abilities and Skills**
Essential:
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
- Ability to manage complex projects.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High-level communication skills including written and verbal communication.
Desirable:
- High-level of skill when using G Suite.
- Ability to maintain a professional online image including social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. This includes promoting Unloc’s work and opportunities for young people.
