Data Protection Advisor

**Location**: Hybrid - Manchester office / Home based with occasional travel to offices in Hook and London

**Purpose of the role**
- Reporting to the Data Protection Manager, the Data Protection Advisor will support the ongoing compliance with Data Protection requirements within cinch.
- Specific areas include, but are not limited to Data Protection (UK DPA / GDPR / PECR).
- The Data Protection Advisor will work with key business areas, adopting a business partner approach to provide both advisory inputs and proactive monitoring of cinch’s compliance, as part of new product development and its day to day operations

**Key Responsibilities**

Working closely with the Data Protection Manager you will support the delivery of Privacy Office functions across cinch. You will:

- Coordinate and manage Subject Access Requests and Erasure requests.
- Support and coordinate due diligence and vendor assessments, working closely with the Information Security Team.
- Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Assist with the investigation of data breaches and complaints.
- Assist in the completion of Records of Processing Activities and other accountability requirements.
- Carry out cookie compliance audits.
- Collaborate with Group DPO office to ensure successful delivery of GDPR requirements.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand the business requirement for projects, develop effective working relationships during project implementation.
- Proactively identify opportunities for product and service enhancements, working with the various squads to deliver improvements.
- Support the production of regular reports to the Head of Compliance, Leadership team and other relevant stakeholders detailing any current issues or information as required.
- Support the delivery of education and training to staff to build Data Protection awareness within cinch.
- Support the Compliance and Leadership team on embedding a risk aware culture.
- Continually drive for enhanced efficiency and customer outcomes in all processes.

**You**:
**Skills and Expertise**
- Data Protection knowledge (UK DPA, GDPR and PECR) and 2+ years’ experience of operating in this space
- Relevant automotive or e-commerce experience would be ideal but not essential
- Practical and commercial approach to problem solving
- Able to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision but maintaining a focus on teamwork
- Able to work and deliver results in a fast moving environment with changing priorities
- Strong team working skills and a collaborative approach, both face-to-face and remotely
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your time and to meet deadlines and objectives

**Qualifications**
- A Data Protection qualification is desirable but not essential balanced against relevant experience.
