Wordpress Developer

The Gekko Group is looking for a WordPress developer to join its growing team and assist in maintaining existing sites and driving new business for the agency through new site development & maintenance.

Working closely with the IT Director, this is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to widen their digital marketing experience and develop their career with a progressive below-the-line marketing agency.

Gekko offer a hybrid working solution to allow flexibility for all our employees, currently this role will require working at our Newbury office along with working from home on a weekly basis.

**Your package**:

**Your role**

As the sole dedicated person responsible for this development, you must be happy to work individually and interact with Client Services teams. Reliable in approach and able to meet targets whilst following the brief to successful conclusion including golive and ongoing maintenance.

**Do you have what it takes?**

To be successful in this role Gekko would like you to have extensive knowledge of WordPress site development including custom themes and plugins, site maintenance, backups and cloning. Strong HTML, CSS and PHP knowledge is also essential as you will be responsiblefor all existing and future Wordpress development. Front end technologies as listed need to be understood and managed effectively.
- Excellent HTML, PHP and CSS skills
- Extensive WordPress knowledge (building custom WordPress plugins)
- Capable of working with and managing plugins and updates
- Demonstrable portfolio of experience (with site links)
- A focus on quality and testing
- Must be an effective communicator, able to work independently to achieve objectives within set timescales

**Additional Desirable skills (non-essential)**
- Minimum 2 years front end development experience
- Version Control Git
- MySQL experience
- Knowledge of front end frameworks
- Google Analytics experience
- IIS 10
- Processwire CMS
- .NET framework
- Node.js
