Student Fees and Funding Administrator

The University of Cambridge is one of the foremost employers in the region, employing over 12,500 people from all over the world. The Student Funding Team sits within Student Operations in Education Services, supporting the academic purposes of the University and provides a range of funding to students through the Cambridge Bursary Scheme, Postgraduate scholarships and student loans. It plays a co-ordinating role for funding administered elsewhere in the Collegiate University.
The role provides support for student fee and funding assessments across the Collegiate University. The role supports the Fees Project Lead, who is the Secretary to the University Fees and Funding Sub-committee. You will:
**Make fee status assessments
**Provide advice on regulations and University policies
**casework for individual students, seeking advice from senior colleagues in more complex cases
**Support the University Sub-committee by organising meetings, arranging the Fee Appeals process and producing agendas
**Create processes and procedures that ensure requests for advice and appeals are processed
**Support a review of University fee policies by assembling information from a variety of sources
What you will need:
**Degree level education (or an equivalent level of professional experience)
**Experience of working in an administrative role, ideally in student funding or scholarship administration
**Strong communication (written and verbal), organisational and time management skills
**The ability to prioritise and self-manage workload, to meet targets and deadlines, and to deal with pressure
**The ability to understand, explain and offer advice that is compliant with policies or regulations
**High levels of accuracy and attention to detail, with an ability to quickly learn new records, finance and reporting systems
**High standard of IT literacy including excellent Microsoft Office skills
The University is moving towards hybrid working. The Student Funding Team is based within the Student Services Centre in Central Cambridge. Staff are expected to be office-based for 30% of the time currently. This may increase for future years.
