This post has been funded by the Greater Manchester Clinical Research Network to improve and facilitate recruitment of GMMH service users, their families, carers and staff to high quality research studies on the National Institute for Health Research Portfolio.

The post-holder will work with GMMH research units and clinical teams to maximise participant recruitment to NIHR portfolio studies utilising new and established systems and processes. This particular post initially includes a requirement to support recruitment to non-interventional studies in psychosis. There will be a requirement to recruit to other projects later during the role depending on where recruitment support is needed.

The post holder will be a key member of the GMMH R&I team, providing ongoing support to established GMMH research units to enable effective recruitment to clinical research studies related to the research units across the GMMH footprint. The post holder will liaise with local clinical teams and study sponsors to support the delivery of study protocols and the service users involved. The post holder will be involved in ensuring that the research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the service users and will have a key role in providing and maintaining appropriate participant-focused environment to facilitate the production of good quality research.

Post holder will be expected to participate fully in their personal development and review process in order to achieve the objectives for this post. Although based at the Rawnsley Building (Central Manchester), post holders will be required to work across GMMH clinical services (including inpatient settings, community, and prisons).

Research
- To assist with delivery of allocated NIHR CRN portfolio projects as directed by the relevant Research Unit Director.
- To work closely with the relevant Research Unit and R&I Office to assist with the development, implementation, set-up and delivery of NIHR portfolio studies within GMMH.
- To work in accordance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004, Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Amendment Regulations 2006, UK Policy Framework for Health and Social Research 2017, ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines, Data Protection Act 2018 and other local policies and procedures as appropriate.

Clinical
- Work in a variety of healthcare settings (inpatient, community, prison, Non-NHS etc.) within the GMMH area, possibly as a lone-worker, depending on the nature and requirements of the research unit/study and in accordance with local requirements/policies and practice as directed by line manager
- Maintain GMMH Trust values when working with participants and their carers and families at all times.

Service Improvement
- Contribute to the development of relevant research policies and procedures relating to recruitment.
- Create, establish and monitor a good customer service culture in the department and wider stakeholders and partnerships.
- Produce R & I Operating Procedures relating to this role.

Quality
- Comply with all policies and legislation related to Research, e.g. Data Protection Act, Mental Capacity Act, Research Governance Framework for Health & Social Care, Human Tissue Act, EU Directive for Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products
- Provide information as required for the Trust Quality Accounts
