Our client, a leading banking organisation in London have an opportunity for an initial 6 month fixed term contract. The Senior Network Analyst will be responsible for managing and ensuring the availability and integrity of the network and telecommunicationsinfrastructure within the business and to its clients.
**Role responsibilities**:
- The continuous operation and availability of the physical Voice and Data infrastructure within the banks main offices, Contingency sites and links to Client premises.
- Works to ensure that the network infrastructure and telecoms links are operational and available within the parameters of the SLAs that are established between the bank and its Clients.
- Manages the relationship between the bank and Third Party vendors including the negotiation of support/maintenance agreements and the monitoring of their levels of service to the bank.
- Adopts a pro-active approach to managing the infrastructure with the aim of achieving minimum downtime.
- Establishes clearly defined metrics and management systems to provide rapid fault recognition and resolution together with proactive performance management.
- Ensures that both current and planned infrastructure meets the guidelines set down by ITG as well as the requirements of the Client(s) and industry standards/best practice.
- Makes recommendations for continuous improvement that are based upon careful analysis, business needs and industry trends.
- Liaises with other areas of IT to deliver a seamless and high quality service to end users.
- Liaises with IT to ensure the integrity and reliability of the services being delivered across the Global WAN.
- Conducts regular reviews to ensure that existing systems and their components are both fit for purpose and that they either meet or exceed the requirements of financial regulators with regards to security standards and industry best practice.
- Establishes clearly defined metrics and management systems to provide rapid fault recognition and resolution together with proactive performance management.
- Ensures that the service being provided to the bank by vendors is both cost effective and appropriate.
**Skill required**:
- Appropriate networking/telecoms experience within a Banking/Low Fault Tolerance environment
- Appropriate experience of TCP/IP, data networks, structured cabling systems, switched networks, Cisco routers and firewalls
- Experience of Market Data feeds and systems
- Appropriate experience of Voice Communications, PABX and Dealer Board equipment
