Help us make a difference as the Site Manager **at Masons MRFIpswich.** **A quick look at the role.** Responsible for the day-to-day management of operational activities within the site in the processing of Approx. 75,000 tonnes (annually) of dried recyclable material, working in partnerships with the Engineering, Logistic and Quality teams and their management.The management of a team of approx. 80 staff with a site revenue of >5 million operating 24/7 with 5 direct reports. To ensure the site and its actives are compliant with all relevant legislative and statutory requirements in relation to H&S, Environmentaland site permit, working plan and Fire Prevention Plan in meeting company standards. To aid in the management and development of continued growth of efficiency and profitability of the recovery and treatment business. The post holder will support the Headof the Business unit to ensure a safe and efficient operation is maintained. **The Biffa division you'll be supporting.** Within **Resources & Energy** we focus on the treatment, recycling and disposal of waste. It provides a number of treatment services for those materials that can be recovered and landfill disposal for those that are not suitable for recyclingor energy recover. Our MRF's are four automated facilities capable of handling 470k tonnes per annum of mixed recycling (this is equivalent to the household recycling of 4 million people). The facilities sort dry mixes recyclables ready for use as secondary raw materials inmanufacturing processes. **Why it's an opportunity not to be wasted.** - Develop and improve the safety culture (reducing incidents and accidents). Monitoring compliance and setting achievable targets for continual Improvement to keep staff safe. Review weekly H&S statistics & ensure that all incidents are reviewed, and improvementsactioned. - Oversee operations at site ensuring safe operation of all facilities in line with business needs and site permits; including deputising for Head of if required. - To achieve P&L Budget for the year. - Monitor performance (Downtime/yields/safety) against targets, identifying and addressing shortfalls and recognising opportunities to improve against budget across all areas of responsibility. - Handle customer problems, complaints, and difficult situations, resolving the issue to the mutual satisfaction of the customer and the business. Ensures that the root cause of such problems or difficulties are identified and addressed in order to preventtheir re-occurrence. - The Site Manager should deal with any safety non-conformities immediately and communicate any finding to the Safety and Compliance Manager tracking risks and trends and highlighting areas of potential improvement. - The majority of the post holder's time will be spent managing site and providing practical guidance, support and assistance regarding operations, including creation of production reports. A large proportion of the role will also include collating reportsfor the Senior Management team to aid in the identification of trends, deficiencies and improvements. - The role requires specialist knowledge of general operations of MRF's/PRF's within a fast-paced waste management environment - The Site Manager must hold a minimum NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety and ideally a COTC level 4. - The role will be expected to manage production related tasks of moderate to high complexity. The post-holder has to have a good understanding of Engineering, Operational and Logistical areas of the business and present a practical approach. Technical experiencewould include a Business qualification, IOSH, COTC and the ability to understand HSE/Environmental reports.
