**About The Role**
As the second largest Building Society in the UK and the 8th largest lender, we know a thing or two about Savings and Mortgages. The Society has grown significantly over the past decadeand now has over 2700 employees and 1.8 million members.
You’ll lead the risk management approach for both regulatory and conduct risk on behalf of the Head of Product and Propositions. A key part of the role will be horizon scanning for impending internal and external changes that may affect the Product and PropositionTeam from a risk perspective, especially the implementation of the FCA Consumer Duty framework. In particular, the role will focus on identifying required changes to product strategy to meet good customer outcomes and overseeing the implementation of any changein approach.
You’ll respond to risk events and incidents as they arise, working with relevant business areas to resolve and prevent recurrence.
Playing a lead role in the agreement of second line assurance, internal audit and external audit plans; overseeing the scope of and output from assurance reviews including recommended actions; and monitoring and reporting on the resolution of risk mitigationactions. You’ll work closely with the Risk function in Operational Shared Service across Customer and Commercial Office.
You’ll develop a co-ordinated and consistent approach to risk management across the Chief Commercial Office including the development of effective working relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring adherence with Enterprise Risk Management Framework requirements.
**About You**
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent you’ll have significant relevant Financial Services experience gained with a strong understand of the regulatory environment combined with good product knowledge and awareness of the key commercial drivers of theSociety.
You’ll be a team player, highly effective at both written and verbal communication with substantial experience of writing committee papers and developing working relationships with key stakeholders at a senior level. You'll have an excellent understanding ofthe principles of risk management, the associated regulatory environment and risk management strategies, policies and frameworks.
You’ll be a self-starter, have well developed analytical, planning and organising skills, an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
