**Job Purpose**:Making sure that the College meets the high standards of education, training and care within its own set of ideals and principles as well as meeting the expectations and guidelines of the placing authorities and inspectorates.All learner needs are supported throughout their time in college.

**Key responsibilities**:
**Main**:
- Management of Education Health & Care Plans
- Student voice facilitator
- Senior Mental Health Lead
- Be part of the College Management Team
**Core responsibilities**
- Liaise & agree with SLT on costings for new EHCP referrals
- Liaise & agree with SLT on numbers for intake
- Key LA contact for EHCP questions/ queries
- Ensure that EHCP consultations are returned in a timely manner (legal deadlines)
- Develop a clear process maps for EHCP (grab sheets)
- Work with the Admissions Co-ordinator to ensure regular admissions panel meetings are held to discuss consultations
- Ensure HoC & CEO consultation recommendations
- Publish a calendar for EHCP reviews
- Publish a calendar for EHCP pre reviews
- Work with HoC to ensure resource allocation is known before place is finally agreed
- Use an 'easy to use’ way of collating information / processes for meetings
- Work with Education Support Leads to review and provide information for the pre review meetings (including learner views)
- Ensure invites are sent in good time for EHCP reviews (6 week legal deadline)
- Ensure parent/carer responses are collated for EHCP reviews
- Chair EHCP reviews
- Approve minutes and ensure actions are allocated from EHCP reviews
- Work with Curriculum Team, Education Support Co-ordinator, Therapy Team and Employability Manager to share information - including solution focussed discussions
- Work with the Curriculum Team, Education Support Co-ordinator, Therapy Team and Employability Manager to ensure we are meeting the EHCP needs of our learners
- Work with the Curriculum Team, Education Support Co-ordinator, Therapy Team and Employability Manager to ensure their staff have access to training and resources
- Tracking any EHCP changes and ensuring these are then monitored as complete by LA and disseminated to the wider college
- Work with the Curriculum Co-ordinator, Education Support Co-ordinator, Therapy Team and Employability Manager to ensure positive destinations and information is recorded
- Ensure inclusivity of representation for ALL students
- College lead for Mental Health Awareness and linking this to Student Voice and staff wellbeing

Person Specification:
Essential:

- Management experience in post 16 sector
- A good understanding of relevant issues for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- Extensive experience in working with learners with learning difficulties and disabilities and families.
- Working knowledge of SEND reforms
- Extensive experience of multiple Local Authority processes for managing EHCP process

Desirable:

- Teaching qualification (PGCE, PTLLS or equivalent)
- Evidence of current CPD work and commitment to specialist training
- SENCo training
- Designated Safeguarding Training
