Robertson Bell are proud to once again be working with this inspiring Christian charity in their search for a new Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting into an experienced Finance Manager, this varied role will take thelead on all thing’s financial accounts, whilst also providing critical support in the management accounts and budgeting processes, in addition to pioneering process improvements.

**The key duties of this Financial Accountant role are as follows**:

- Take the lead in the preparation of the financial statements, for review by the Finance Director.
- Act as the key point of contact for the External Auditors, developing the audit schedules and providing all necessary files in a timely fashion.
- Full responsibility for all things VAT, including submissions to HMRC.
- Provide critical support to the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts and budget vs actual reporting.
- Deliver training sessions to both UK and internationally based stakeholders to boost financial understanding and competencies.
- Play a key role in the annual budget setting process.
- Work closely with both the Finance Manager and Finance Director in the review of existing policies and procedures, updating them as required to ensure commitment to working efficiency improvements.
- Undertake occasional international travel to country offices across the world to support on international finance-related matters.

- At least part qualified as an accountancy professional.
- A strong background working in financial accounts.
- Ideally, experience of training or upskilling staff, but this is by no means essential.
- Brilliant communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- A background working in the charity sector would be beneficial, but not compulsory.
