**About the role**
As Assistant Production Supervisor you will operate Cruachan’s Generator Units in accordance with requirements of the Energy Management Centre and UK Transmission System Operator. You’ll undertake routine plant system checks and record emergent defects within the Maintenance Management System.
You’ll be assisting the Production Supervisor in all aspects of the operation of Cruachan Power Station, inclusive of discharging responsibilities under the Generation Safety Rules.
You’ll also support in handling emergency situations affecting Cruachan Power Station and / or the National Electricity Transmission System.
You’ll ensure adequate communications are maintained with the Energy Management Centre shift trading desk and the Transmission System Operator.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you’ll need extensive experience in the operations and maintenance of large scale electrical generating equipment, or other equivalent industrial plant.
You’ll have a sound working knowledge of the performance characteristics and operational limits of the main and auxiliary plant comprising Cruachan Power Station, or other large-scale electrical generating plant.
It would be beneficial if you were degree level qualified in a relevant engineering discipline however this is not essential.
You’ll need to be in a commutable distance of the power station or be prepared to relocate.
