**Job Purpose**

As part of our ongoing growth, Davies Group require a talented and energetic SQL Technical Lead to join their growing Client Reporting Team. The role will primarily focus on the Claims Solutions business within UK and Ireland, but as Davies Group continues to diversify this may expand.

Working within the Claims Solutions sector of Davies Group, the Reporting & Analytics Team is a fast-paced environment and is responsible for the development and management of management information reports for both clients and internal stakeholders. These reports cover the four main insurance lines of the sector: Property, Casualty, Motor and Niche.

The SQL Technical Lead will work as part of this team to ensure that new requirements and bug fixes for the existing data warehouse are completed in a timely manner, as well as the designing and developing of new DWH solutions to allow for continuous organic growth within the business. This will assist the reporting teams to effectively manage the reporting workload.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

**Management**
- Filling in for absent employees and assisting teams as needed to successfully complete projects
- Evaluating employee performance and providing training and guidance as needed through regular 121’s and PDR’s
- Handling staff issues and authorising annual and sick leave, including completing required documentation on Sage
- Organising staff workloads through weekly workflow reviews
- Addressing client queries, feedback, and complaints regarding direct reports where applicable, escalating to CRIM where required.
- Agreeing and arranging any external training and development requirements
- Ensuring all documentation is created, completed and updated at all times

**Development**
- Designing DWH solutions that are in line with long-term reporting requirements
- Continuing to design a DWH infrastructure that supports complex data reporting across multiple services
- Building effective relationships across all reporting teams to ensure there is a mutual understanding of future requirements

- Creating, and updating documentation that show key data entities and creating an inventory of the system changes
- Helping to maintain the integrity and security of the company’s database
- Providing regular and up-to-date status reports to stakeholders, and department managers
- Ensuring projects remain on target by setting realistic timelines and updating management team if there is any risk to achieving or any blockers
- Keeping up to date on statuary or industry reporting changes, and, where required, developing new reporting and fields to meet requirements.

**Skills & Experience**
- An understanding Azure SQL dev
- An understanding of SQL reporting capabilities is preferred
- Proven ability in working to strict deadlines
- Experience with SQL development
- Experience with Data Warehouse design, build, and implementation
- Experience of Kimball, and Dimensional data warehousing is preferred
- Experience of QLIK, nPrinting is preferred
- Experience of insurance / financial reporting is preferred
- Experience of reporting, and large data set manipulation is preferred
- Experience of data integration through migration is preferred
