Em Fx and Rates Strategist

**Job Purpose**
- Purpose: Being part of the EM Strategy team with a particular focus on FX products. Contribute to global FX content and trade ideas by collaborating with other EM and G10 strategist. The positioning is based in London, hence main focus will be on CEEMEA markets. But crucial to understand the global macro views and implementations of these views in individual markets.

**Core accountabilities of role**
- Literacy on global macro and impact on individual markets
- Developing into an independent idea generator that incorporates different aspects of markets: fundamentals, flows, positioning, other technical
- Performing day-day tasks (morning calls, positioning reports, updates for spreadsheets / data)
- Interacting with economists, being literate on the macro backdrop for each country under his coverage. Contribute market views for economists’ pieces
- Developing / improving tools and infrastructure for strategy including valuation models, positioning metrics
- Working on cross asset and cross country content
- Contributing to overall EM strategy with ideas and associated analysis.
- Communicating actively with sales and trading to support the business

**Knowledge, Skill and Experience**

**Essential**
- Intermediate Level experience in financial markets, most preferably in a sell-side research/strategy position
- Ability to present views, understand and explain strategies in a clear way, strong communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets, asset pricing and trade idea generation
- Understanding of products such as fx, forwards, swaps, bonds
- Strong team player attitude, who contributes and partners with other regions, economists, sales and trading, to design ideas, challenge positions and develop new client opportunities.
- Ability to adapt quickly, open to change
- Adherence to regulatory compliance
- Some literacy for general macro-economy theory, monetary policy and its impact on markets
- Intermediate level 'Knowledge of specific principles and processes within Global Markets and ability to translate this knowledge and experience to provide recommendations to teams.
- Works under own initiatives, beginning to support other most junior staff in the team with tasks.

**Preferred**
- Quantitative background and a desire to approach problems with a model driven framework
- Experience in data analysis and good statistical skills
- Comfortable in programming
- Working knowledge on main financial engineering tools, such as portfolio optimization, simulation, factors models
- knowledge or experience on EM economies
