**Salary**: £10.50 per hour

Glebedale School is a DfE registered independent school for boys and girls with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and other complex learning needs aged 7 - 19 years old.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent and rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school is proud to provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, alongside a curriculum designed specifically to promote effective learning skills ad encourage the personal growth and development of all pupils to ensure that they reach their full potential.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will connect directly with the brilliant children and young people we care for, helping to make sure they get the very best from their education. Each individual has so much potential, and they will rely on you to guide their learning journeys.

You will help prepare learning materials and run classroom activities, with plenty of hands-on experience and some supervision too. You will take responsibility for their emotional and physical needs, supporting them to develop as individuals and engage with the world.

Supporting children with complex Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs is important and rewarding work, and you will benefit from the tremendous support offered by our hugely experienced teams. As you help our children and young people achieve real and significant progress, you will enjoy having a direct, positive impact on their developing lives.

**Who we are looking for**

You don’t need any experience to join our team. If you come from hospitality, the army, outdoor activity centres or an office-based job but are eager to help vulnerable children and young people to live happy, fulfilling lives, this is the role for you. We will provide you with full training and development to succeed within your role. Educated with a minimum of Maths and English GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent.

We also welcome applicants who do have exprerience working with children within schools and working with children with special educational needs.

You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need. Taking a responsive and caring approach, you may be running classroom activities, leading outdoor experiences or supervising children as they explore further afield.
