An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Finance Officer to join the Student Finance Fees team in the Finance Office. You will be primarily responsible for undertaking all tasks relating to the Student Loans Company (SLC) and supporting the Fees section of the Student Finance team in its day-to-day operation.

You will have a good general level of education and have Previous experience in an Accounting / Finance role in a Higher Education environment and/or financial environment of a similar size and complexity. You will have good administrative, organisational and communication skills and be highly proficient in the use of spread sheets, word processing and Outlook.

**JOB PURPOSE**

The post is in the Student Finance - Fees team. Primarily undertaking all tasks relating to Student Loans Company (SLC) and to support the Fees section of the Student Finance team in its day-to-day operation.

To demonstrate an excellent customer service ethos, building good working relationships with stakeholders (particularly those in student records and academic departments) through close communication and information sharing, and collaborative working.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Administering student fees and collection of tuition fees from SLC**:
Undertake all tasks relating to SLC administration with regard to the collection of tuition fees, reporting and student support by working closely with the SLC, Student Finance and other academic departments and to advise students with regards to their student support.

Process fee amendments for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students who have withdrawn.

Generate all full time and part time tuition and module fees, issuing of invoices and reporting to the SLC.

Confirm registration to the SLC for postgraduate students who have an SLC loan.

**Administering collection of tuition fees from other sources**:
Administer the payment of fees to the University’s partner colleges for students on the 2+2 course.

Act as a point of contact for sponsoring organisations. Produce invoices for non-standard overseas governments and funding bodies and monitor those accounts.

Administer the day to day payments to the University’s Erasmus students.

**Other**

Other duties as required by senior members of Student Finance relating to general Academic Office business and commensurate with the grade.
