We will be delivering the HMPPS Activity Hubs contracts in London. Based in Lewisham and Croydon we are looking for a Support Worker who have the desired skills and experience to support men and women after release from Custody whilst on supervision licenceor serving community sentences.

The purpose of the Activity Hubs will be to assist participants not to re-offend, alongside the key aim of European Social Fund (ESF) to move individuals closer to the labour market. The Hubs will provide safe and supportive spaces, offering a range of interventionsand activities that aim to engage harder to reach individuals, particularly those who face multiple barriers to employment and would benefit from further provision accessed on a voluntary basis.

Support Workers will be expected to have the necessary skills to be able to develop a comprehensive action plan, facilitate structured one to one sessions and group sessions, and be responsible for the thorough case management of service users on their caseload.In addition to this, the post holder will:

- Help individuals to address logístical barriers preventing them from engaging with mainstream provision;
- Develop life-skills;
- Enhance their employability;
- Foster a sense of self-worth;
- Build up personal resilience;
- Engage them in community support networks;
- Make them more receptive to engaging with professionals;
- Make them more open to referrals to support outside of the Hub environment;
- Reinforce the value of leading law-abiding lives

Key Responsibilities:

- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with staff in referral organisations and the National Probation Service. Including Outreach into Local Probation Offices.
- Ability to work within an offender focused setting and to be able to develop excellent working relationships with service users and other partner agencies.
- Engage and assess service users and work collaboratively to establish an action plan which Identifies needs, aspirations, barriers and solutions.
- Deliver one to one and group interventions, sustaining engagement by providing a positive experience for the service user.
- Accurate and timely recording and updating of CATs+ computerised system required for programme delivery.
- Work with Offender Managers to regularly review service user risk management strategies in place to support safety and rehabilitation.

Excellent communication skills and being able to develop strong working relationships will also be crucial to this role. You will have a passion for working with people with experience of the criminal justice system and/or with other marginalised groups,and a belief that everyone can turn their life around regardless of past or present circumstances. You will have an ability to build rapport, motivate and inspire, and a keen eye for detail.
