**The Company**

Elizabeth Stone Gardens is a gardening and landscaping business based in the Western Park area of Leicester which provides high quality garden maintenance, restoration and design services.

The company have won Gold medals for ‘Britain in Bloom’ and ‘Best Nature Garden’ awards and Elizabeth is an RHS mentor and assessor, a Forest School leader, and winner of the ‘RHS Green Plan-It Challenge.’

Beyond our landscaping activities we also work collaboratively with councils, charities and schools in a range of areas, such as delivering the Green Social Prescribing programme for Blaby District Council in support of their NHS Social Prescribing work.

We are currently in the process of developing our new 5-acre site which is used to run Forest Schools, community workshops and other social prescribing activities.

Elizabeth Stone Gardens provide gardening and landscaping services to private clients and community groups in the Leicester area on projects ranging from regular maintenance and renovation to full garden redesigns and specialist installations.

The role is for a gardener to join Elizabeth Stone Gardens undertaking all aspects of gardening projects and services.

This is a full-time position and we work all year round.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Driving company vehicles to and from locations of work.
- Maintaining and weeding borders and other planted areas.
- Pruning of trees and shrubs.
- Design of planting schemes for borders and other planted areas.
- Setting out and planting of trees shrubs and other plants.
- Ground preparation.
- Cleaning and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Reporting issues with equipment or unsafe conditions.

**Person Specification**

You are driven enough to deliver a service above expectations and take pride in what you and your team do. You must have good communication skills, conduct yourself in a professional manner and be well-presented.

Having excellent customer service skills and being able to work within a team are also essential for this role.

You will perform any other duties relevant to the grade which might be specified from time to time by your manager.

**Key skills/ Qualifications**

Essential:

- Minimum of 1 years gardening experience.
- Good plant knowledge.
- Good customer service skills.
- Experience of using garden machinery such as lawn mowers, blowers, and strimmers.
- You must hold a full, clean UK driving licence as you will be required to drive a team to sites in a company van.
- GCSEs or equivalent.

Desirable:

- Apprenticeship or specialisation is an asset, but not necessary.
