Service Introduction and Assurance Director

We are seeking a technically fluent, impactful yet collaborative individual to lead on the complex juggling act that is successful service introduction for a global satellite company at the forefront of maritime, aviation, government and enterprise communications. Working for a pragmatic, supportive Senior VP Service Assurance, you will be accountable for assuring the company’s new products and services, delivered by a variety of teams across product and commercial management, operations, technology teams, businessunits and third party suppliers, are assessed and meet criteria for operational and commercial deployment. You will be responsible for an essential "stage gate" requiring the alignment of end-to-end service performance with network infrastructure capabilities,resilience, availability criteria and commercial expectations. Whilst a process for such accountability has been established, the position requires acute awareness and anticipation of potential snags to explore compromise/constraints with senior individuals across multiple functions to drive product and service developmentprojects readiness. Ultimately, this will culminate in a formal service introduction review. Technical understanding of the company's core products/services will help you fully grasp issues such as network capacity and capability, scalability, resilience,licensing and customer support requirements etc. Working with one direct report, you’ll seek to continuously improve readiness requirements understanding at earlier stages in the development cycle across the company as you juggle initiatives en route to review. This is a highly influential, hands-on role. Commercial awareness and exceptional resilience, communication and influencing skills are essential. You’ll need to establish a depth of credibility not only in technical communities, but also at senior businesslevels from a very early point. No one day will be the same as another **Essential** - A BSc degree or Masters in a relevant technical (e.g. telecommunications, satellite, engineering) or and managerial field - Knowledge of satellite communications technology and/or the telecoms industry - Knowledge of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice for Service Transition - Ability to influence and drive consensus in an effective and persuasive manner - A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving with the ability to work effectively under pressure - Highly collaborative, influential but able to manage conflict constructively - Highly persuasive and evidence based, able to demonstrate resilience in high consequence, risk-based assessments - Continuous improvement approach to streamlining processes - A true passion for pragmatic service introduction assurance and its worth
