Northern Healthcare provides mental health recovery services across many regions within the UK. Our services consist of Supported Living and community outreach services which provide our residents with access to 24 hr support from experienced clinical and support staff.

We support over 150 adults across the UK in all aspects of their daily lives and mental health recovery. Currently our services are based across the Northwest, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Midlands.

The Finance Assistant is a key member of the finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the post holder will aim to build and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders and strive
to improve processes wherever possible. You will be responsible for monthly bank account, credit card and petty cash reconciliations; setting up cash management systems at Northern Healthcare services;
Training Business Administrators and Service Manager in relation to finance policies and procedures.

You will also support the Assistant Finance Manager with balance sheet reconciliations, monitoring service budgets and conducting internal finance audits. In addition to your main areas of responsibilities, you will provide support to finance colleagues. Prior experience is advantageous in the following areas Procurement, Purchase Ledger, and Sales Ledger.

Cash Management & Reconcilliation
- Responsible for posting and allocating daily bank receipts and payments on Sage.
- Set up payments and requesting authorisation.
- Carrying out monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, credit card and petty cash statements.
- Preparation of monthly prepayment/accruals figures.
- Carrying out investigation and reporting of any cash discrepancies.
- Responsible for setting up cash management systems at Northern Healthcare services.
- Providing training to Business Administrators and Service Managers in relation to finance policies

and procedures and provide ongoing support.
- Undertaking system audits of the service cash managements systems, testing that robust financial

processes and procedures are in place. Reporting audit findings and implementing approved actions.
- Support the Assistant Finance Manager with mandatory central government reporting.
- Support the Assistant Finance Manager with balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Assistant Finance Manager with monitoring service budgets and carrying out periodic

analysis.
- Monitoring daily / monthly cashflow and assist Finance Manager with cashflow forecasting.
- Possess valid driving license, own transport and willing to travel for training purposes.
- Providing support to the finance department as a whole
- Procurement, Purchase Ledger, Sales
