Head of Finance
Location - Eccles, Manchester
Salary - £50,000-65,000
Simpson Judge are working with a well-established social enterprise based in Eccles, Manchester, who have an opportunity for a Head of Finance in a varied leadership role, managing a small team alongside a variety of reporting and other responsibilities.
Duties include:

- Act as a strategic financial adviser to the Senior Leadership Team and Board, providing sound advice, guidance and information on organisational performance, risks and opportunities
- Manage staff in the department, monitoring their work, setting targets and carrying out regular supervisions, appraisals and reviews of their competency framework.
- To manage and oversee the production of the monthly management accounts and annual budgeting/forecast process working with budget-holders to ensure financial resources are used/managed effectively identifying and explaining any significant trends or variances.
- Monitor and review the effectiveness of financial controls to ensure that they remain appropriate at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation, regulations and guidelines such as VAT, Charity Commission requirements, etc.
- Leading on all aspects of Treasury including cash flow management and assisting the Directors and other senior colleagues with any financial requirements.
- Managing the preparation of all statutory and regulatory returns before submission to the relevant authority including, but not limited to, VAT return, CT return, loan covenants, Statistical Data Return, Financial Forecast Return, FVA return and quarterly statistical returns.

Skills/Qualifications:

- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified accountant
- Previous management accounts experience
- Previous people management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
