**Job Summary**:
Specialist Advisers work with clients who are new and established businesses on a 1-2-1 basis. The Specialist Adviser uses their significant experience and knowledge to undertake an in-depth discussion and develop an action plan to identify key issues and priorities.

The Specialist Advisor works on one specific action item with the client. In addition, the Specialist Adviser utilises their knowledge of 3 rd parties, in public and private sector, who may also be able to provide support and solutions to the client.

Support from other generalist Business Advisers, Specialists are available in the Business Wales service, such as Superfast Broadband Optimisation, which is integrated with the package of support in order to maximise the growth of the business.

Specialist Advisers work closely with their internal colleagues to ensure that:

- information and advice given to clients at Level 1 and 2 of the segmentation model is accurate and up-to-date via Continuous Professional Development sessions;
- supporting with queries of a more complex or technical nature; and
- act as Specialist Champions to ensure the service delivers to best practice standards and is committed to continuous improvement.

As part of a partnership Business in Focus, Antur Cymru and Serco form Growth Partnership Wales. From January 2016, for a period of five years, Growth Partnership Wales will deliver the Business Wales Service, a business support service delivered across the whole of Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government. This service is led by the National Manager who is supported to manage delivery pan Wales by three Regional Managers (North, Mid & West and South). The Business Wales service delivery model segments support into four levels, Self employed, Micro Businesses and two levels of Growth. Growth (Level 3) clients will be allocated a Business Advisor (Growth). In many circumstances a business will be needing specialist support. The Business Wales service has the following specialists; Equality & Diversity Resource Efficiency, International Trade, Tendering, and ICT. Specialist Advisors provide specialist advice with a particular area of focus and tailored for individual business needs.

**Reason for role**

Specialist Advisers have prime responsibility for the Business Wales Service’s relationship with a team portfolio of businesses in Wales; including those with growth potential. They provide specialist advice with a particular area of focus and tailored for individual business needs.

**Job Description & Person Specification**

Conduct specialist diagnostic, examine in detail the elements and requirements of client businesses in order to identify opportunities for improving/developing good practice and, where possible, supporting growth for that business.

Following diagnostic make referrals to appropriate specialists / core service / Welsh Government programmes demonstrating growth/growth potential in line with the agreed segmentation model.

Work with clients on agreed actions in order to sustain momentum towards the agreed goals within the allotted time

To promote and deliver the equality and diversity values and aims of the Company through its services.

To ensure that the needs of clients receiving support in the Business Wales service, as far as possible, are met when advising or working with a client.

To develop and maintain productive networks, partnerships and contacts (internal and external), identifying opportunities to reach and deliver your services to underrepresented groups.

**Experience & Knowledge**

Have Member level membership to CIPD and ideally have a recognised Equality And Diversity accreditation / qualification, e.g. CIPD
