Brighton based (Remote until April, and hybrid working thereafter with expectation of 1 day in the office)

Full-time / Permanent position

We are looking for a Head of Investigations to join our regulatory client. Reporting to the Director of Enforcement, the Head of investigations will lead the investigation team in delivering high-quality regulatory and financial crime investigations. Youwill be responsible for the operational performance of the investigation department and the strategic oversight of the investigations portfolio whilst directly leading the highest profile and most complex investigations.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships with other investigative regulators and law enforcement agencies.

You will:

- Drive a high performing team ensuring sufficient critical capabilities within the team and be responsible for the operational performance of the investigation function including effective key performance indicators and fostering a culture of continuousimprovement and quality assurance
- Ensure successful delivery of the investigations’ portfolio by providing strategic supervision of all investigations whilst directly leading the highest profile and most complex investigations
- Be a key decision maker for both operational and investigation decisions and contribution materially to the overall performance of the Enforcement Directorate
- Provide a coaching style line management to ensure ongoing development of the team.
- Be a key liaison with other investigatory regulators and law enforcement agencies

Essential:

- **Leadership**- Excellent leadership skills with proven success of building high-performing diverse and inclusive investigation teams, coaching, developing critical capabilities in highly-performing teams, establishing and owning key performanceindicators whilst fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance
- **Decision making** - Extensive experience of decision making in complex regulatory and financial crime investigations
- **Investigation**:

- Substantial knowledge and extensive experience of all aspects of investigation techniques and evidential analysis in complex regulatory and financial crime cases including a thorough understanding of digital software forinvestigation, relevant legislation and familiarly with using financial experts
- **Communication**:

- Outstanding communication and influencing skills. Experience of working under pressure and managing external public scrutiny,
- **Stakeholder**:

- Proven ability to build effective relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders, capable of flexing your style, to understand and engage with different audiences including law enforcement and other regulatory agenciesas well as victims of crime
