Assistant Producer

Job Introduction**BBC SPORT Scotland serves audiences across digital, television and radio covering football, rugby and a wide range of other sporting events and personalities.**

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Producer to join the BBC SPORT Scotland team. Reporting to the Assistant Editor for Television, you will work primarily in television sport and be responsible for delivering content for the various _Sportscene_ programmes plus original digital video content for online and social media.
- Sportscene_ covers Scottish football, and then some. Premiership, men and women, Championship, Scottish Cup and Scotland internationals with live, highlights and analysis.

Main Responsibilities
- To come up with and generate fresh ideas about how to produce modern, intelligent, and entertaining sports programmes/features
- Knowledge and ability to use editing software - Avid Newscutter/Media Composer, Avid Assist/Media Manager desirable.
- Edit match highlights in a fast turnaround environment.
- To watch and digitally log accurately sporting action, identifying what is important or useful; either as pre-recorded material, or live at Pacific Quay Glasgow.
- Work in conjunction with a VT Editor, to edit highlights of sporting action into complete programmes, or programme inserts.
- Coordinate the VT area - replays and analysis - at Pacific Quay or on live Outside Broadcasts and work closely with, and direct, EVS operatives.
- Experience of directing and editing colour VT material and features.
- Creative approach and ability to offer new and fresh ways of delivering content; both editorial and colour-based.
- Self-shooting ability also desirable.

They will also have experience of working in a pressurised, fast turnaround VT environment. A strong knowledge of sport, particularly Scottish football, is a must plus the ability to generate ideas for the content they will be working across.

You will have a positive attitude, initiative and the ability to work to deadlines under pressure.
