Alan Howard are the leading supplier to the Hair and Beauty trade. We are a family-run business trading for 50 years and employ over 300 employees across the UK.

We are looking for a full-time Ecommerce Assistant to join the team in our Stockport office (SK1 4AR). As an E-commerce Assistant, you will support the E-commerce Manager and wider team to increase online traffic, sales and profit via the website.

**Hours of Work**:
39 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 8.30 - 5.00, Friday 8.30 - 4.00

**Responsibilities**:

- Continually list new products on the Alan Howard website, ensuring all data and images are complete and SEO-friendly.
- Review and optimise old product listings to enhance our online presence and increase organic traffic to the website.
- Assist in building & maintaining content on the website such as brand landing pages, banners, featured products, informational pages and FAQ’s.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure in-stock products are always available to purchase via the website and manage discontinued stock delisting.
- Continually merchandise the website to ensure products are displayed in the right place at the right time.
- Be responsible for the website taxonomy, ensuring products are correctly categorised and category pages are optimised.
- Utilise upsell and cross-sell tools to maximise conversion and AOV.
- Support the Ecommerce Manager in testing new features on the website and reporting any technical issues.
- Liaise with the Purchasing and Marketing teams to ensure products and content are ready for new product launches and promotions.
- Set up promotions and offers using our content management system, ensuring offers and promotions work correctly at all times.
- Utilise analytic tools to monitor performance, identify issues and recognise opportunities for improvement.

**Skills**:

- An understanding of SEO principles (required)
- Previous experience using CMS platforms such as Shopify, Magento or Woocommerce (required)
- Ability to edit and write basic HTML/CSS (required)
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel (required)
- High level of accuracy and a keen eye for detail (required)
- Excellent written skills (required) with copywriting experience (preferred)
- Experience using web analytic tools e.g GA4, AHREFS, Google Search Console (preferred)
- Previous experience in a similar ecommerce role (preferred)
- Hair & Beauty industry experience (preferred)
