- Registration Administrator (Combined Role) - Job Description (W) 2025.doc
**Registration Administrator / Ceremony Registration Officer / Deputy Registration Officer**
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in a combined role within the Registration Service. We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our small, busy team and help people at some of the most important times of their lives.
The combined role covers 3 posts, with a minimum of 20 hours in the core role of Registration Administrator at Grade 4 (£23,114 to £23,893 pro rata). Once in post you will receive training in your first year to register marriages at locations across the County and assist at other celebratory events throughout Pembrokeshire, with these duties being paid on Grade 5 (£24,294 to £25,545 pro rata). You will also receive training in your second year to enable you to register births and deaths and provide other registration services. This aspect of the combined role attracts a salary upgrade to Grade 6 (£25,979 to £28,770 pro rata).
In addition to the core hours, you will be required to work additional variable hours up to 37 in total across all three posts, depending on service requirements. These hours will be worked across Monday - Sunday so a high degree of flexibility is required. Occasional overtime beyond 37 hours may be required at particularly busy times.
Due to the nature of the service post holders will be required to work weekends on a rota basis throughout the year, with members of staff being prepared to work a minimum of three weekends out of four at peak times of demand (primarily but not exclusively during the summer period).
Legible handwriting is essential for this post as well as a full clean driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Welsh language skills are essential for this post.
You will also have the opportunity to enrol on the National Accreditation Programme Qualification in Registration after two years in service.
**Please refer to the job description above for more details on this vacancy and the person specification.**

**Safeguarding**
Safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk is a high priority for Pembrokeshire County Council. We aim to support vulnerable children and adults at risk to ensure they are as safe as they can possibly be. We are committed to ensuring their safety and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The Council’s Corporate Safeguarding Policy provides a framework for every member of staff and Service within the Council, setting out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and protecting children and adults at risk as well as the methods by which the Council will be assured that it is fulfilling its duties.
This policy applies to all Council employees and workforce, councillors, volunteers and also service providers that are commissioned by the Council. Safeguarding is everyone's business whether they work for, or on behalf of, the Council.
**Support & Additional Info**
- Please note, we have a legal obligation to consider employees for suitable alternative employment if their posts are at risk; therefore prior consideration will be given to existing employees who meet the person specification and are registered on our redeployment pool.
