11:30am - 1:00pm Lunchtime Support
1:00pm - 4:00pm Teaching Assistant

**Salary -**
Between National Minimum Wage and Pt. 7

**Main Duties**

**As Teaching Assistant: -**

**Main duties include**:

- Know and understand the relevant statutory and non-statutory curricular frameworks and other relevant initiatives across the age and ability range they teach
- To assist in the implementation of schemes of work in accordance with the school’s pattern of organisation
- Use skills in English, Mathematics and Computing to support children’s learning
- Make effective personalised provision for children they support, including those who have EAL, SEND, A, G & T and/or are assessed as Disadvantaged
- Know and implement local and national policies and guidance on the Safeguarding and promotion of the well-being of children
- Establish a purposeful, safe, orderly and stimulating learning environment which complies with legal requirements, national policies and school policies
- Manage pupils' behaviour constructively by establishing a clear and positive framework for discipline in line with the school's Behaviour Policy
- To maintain classroom resources/displays to a high standard
- Work as a team member, sharing the development of effective practice
- Adopt a positive and optimistic attitude to school issues
- Help to encourage a positive school spirit
- Meet deadlines and show a degree of organisation in work related matters
- To assist in supervision at break-times
- To administer first aid when necessary.
- To take shared responsibility for standards of safety, security, hygiene, cleanliness and tidiness throughout the classroom.
- To take shared responsibility for the care, maintenance and security of all equipment within the classroom.
- To participate in the school’s performance management review process and access any necessary training or professional development.
- To comply with all school policies and procedures at all times.
- To treat all staff, children and parents with courtesy and professionalism at all times.
- To attend parents evenings/open days as and when required.
- To attend staff and team meetings as appropriate.
- To keep the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
- To carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework.
- To work within agreed School policies and procedures including Safeguarding; E-safety; Behaviour Management and Health and Safety
- To deal with all confidential matters with tact and discretion.

**As Lunchtime Assistant:

- **

**Main duties include**:
- Supervise pupils in the dining hall, playground areas and on the school premises during the school lunch period.
- Ancillary duties (for example cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean between sittings)
- Ensuring outstanding behaviour from the pupils following the school’s Behaviour Policy.
- Dealing with minor incidents to pupils.
- Ensuring general, acceptable noise levels are not exceeded.
- Positively encourage all children to try new tastes.
- To prepare the tables for lunchtime and to assist clearing away tables/chairs at the end of the lunchtime break, if and when necessary.
- To get out / put away playground equipment from the storage area.
- Working with other lunchtime staff to encourage children to take part in playground activities and promoting co-operative play.
- To take a lead in organising playground games.
- Encourage the development of social skills, personal hygiene and self-discipline amongst the pupils, e.g. eating in a socially acceptable manner, hand-washing after toileting and before meals and displaying excellent manners.
- To support the class teacher settling the children back into class at the end of lunchtime break.
- To carry out administrative tasks relating to Midday Assistants, for example: completing accident book/behaviour log.
- To attend staff training sessions where appropriate.
- Such other duties, as may reasonably be required, within the grading of this post.

- Support all pupils and staff at the school.
