Sciantec, part of Cawood Scientific, has the ability to assess and evaluate the raw materials for animal feedstuffs, finished feeds, pharmaceutical compounds, pre-mixes, forages, combinable grains and pulses. Animal nutrition activities include feeds for all agricultural livestock, companion animals, the equine sector and aquaculture. Along with our sister laboratory, Sciantec provides a full microbiological testing service for the group.

Sciantec, a division of Cawood Scientific, are looking for a **Sample Preparation Assistant on a permanent contract **to join the team, based on our site in Selby, North Yorkshire.

As a sample prep assistant you will prepare samples within agree timeframes which ensure they are ready for laboratory analysis and enables all customer quality and turnaround time requirements are met.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Sorting and separation of samples and ensuring they correspond with the relevant paperwork.
- Prepare all samples accurately and in a timely manner.
- Receive and inspect samples that are delivered to site.
- Understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedures provided.
- Maintain Cawood credibility by always portraying a positive image by keeping equipment and PPE clean.
- Respect company equipment ensuring to use them as per guidelines and to report any damage to management as soon as possible.
- Work as a team and maintaining morale and actively offer help and assistance wherever possible.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

- Must be able to work effectively and collaborate within own team and other sections.
- Must take initiative and have the ability to conduct hands-on work.
- Strong communication skills
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
- Highly organised and excellent time management skills.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work alone.
- Ability to display efficiency when working with high-volume turnover of work in a busy environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £23,700.00 per year
