**Nursery Practitioner - Level 3** **Location**: Staines, TW18 3HD **Salary**: £21,000 to £26,000, DOE **Contract**: Full time, Permanent **We are Footprint Day Nursery and we are recruiting** Footprints Day Nursery was established in January 2008 offers first class care, with an inspirational and diverse curriculum to ensure learning is both stimulating and fun for every child while working to the Government Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. **Nursery Practitioner - The role**: As our Nursery Practitioner you will be responding to each child's need for individual care and attention and provide a high level of care and supervision that will enhance the children's general health and well-being. Act as a Key Person to a group of childrenand to ensure their needs are reflected in the planning of routines and activities. **In addition to this you will also be responsible for**: - Providing a stimulating and play rich environment, where appropriate resources can be accessed by all children and activities differentiated to ensure the needs of all children who attend the Nursery are met. - Working as a part of the team leading and supporting other nursery staff, volunteers and the nursery management team. - Communicating appropriately and effectively with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure all children attending the Nursery are fully safeguarded; - Implementing a positive behaviour policy, ensuring consistency and taking into account the children’s levels of understanding and stages of development. - Supporting the nursey induction through home visits, selection of key person role and setting in procedures. - Working with parents to ensure children’s individual needs are met; reporting on the development, progress and attainment of children through termly parent discussions. - Supporting the nursery manager to plan and implement the Early Years Foundation Stage Learning outcomes appropriately to meet the needs of all children through the differentiation of tasks; - Setting clear targets, based on prior arraignments for children’s learning; - Supporting the Nursery manager to keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessments into weekly termly planning; - Supporting children to develop independence and self-help skills ensuring intimate care policies are appropriate and followed. - Having a particular regard to the individual needs to each child who attends the nursery setting ensuring that each child’s needs are met and that they are able to fully participate in the session; - Supporting the serving of refreshments to children and ensuring that the always have access to water. - Following and ensuring with other staff members that the Nursery’s departure and registration procedures are followed. - Ensuring you are guiding and directing any level 2’s, unqualified staff and temps to follow nursery policies and procedures. - Helping set up and clear away the nursery equipment used in activities by the children. - Organising resources for the Nursery and consider any further resource needs and their effective placement. - Building effective relationships with parents, carers, and other members of staff. **In order to be successful within this role you should have**: - Level 3 full and relevant qualification related to early years or play work - Experience of working with children aged 0 to 5 years of age in an early year setting - Knowledge, understanding and experience of child development - Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children - Cultivate a culture of team working and ability within this environment - To be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing - To be committed to the continual personal and professional development - Approachable with good interpersonal skills when dealing with children and adults - Well - Organised, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable - Value and respects the views of children and team members**It would be great if you have**: - Paediatric First Aid Training - Level 2 Food hygiene Training - Safeguarding Children Training - Experience of supporting children with additional learning needs and SEND and English as an additional language - Experience of dealing with difficult behaviour - Self-Motivated and able to take initiative and responsibility **If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience to be successful in this role, click on "APPLY" today, forwarding an up-to-date copy of your CV for consideration in the first instance.** No agencies please.
