Deck Lead

**_Petrofac is looking to recruit a Deck Lead to join our Petrofac Facilities Management Limited on a permanent basis based in Douglas, UK._**

**Main purpose of the role**:
Responsible for the safe, efficient & cost effective operation of the platform’s deck activities

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Co-ordinate and direct the Deck Team. Review at the start of shift - personnel requirements to ensure compliance with current priorities (Cranes/Boats/Helicopters/Scaffolding)
- Attend weekly Planning / Scheduling meeting, or assign a suitable delegate to update progress on a.) Current Weeks Plan. b.) Confirm Schedule being reviewed is achievable for the following Plan.
- Co-ordinate and direct the Deck Team with Emergency Response Team weekly training, record all attendees on the spreadsheet (Located in the Offshore HSEC File)
- Oversee Helicopter / Helideck operations including, passenger control, freight and baggage
- Direct discharge and back loading of marine vessels (supply boat operations) including liaising with relevant person on manifest and identification of appropriate containers
- Oversee all scaffolding, lifting, rigging and logistics planning. Please note that Advanced Scaffolder certificate is desirable for this position
- Preparation of work areas which require Crane and lifting Operations. Ensure safeguarding the reliability, availability and “fit for purpose” operational conditions of the platform cranes and associated lifting equipment
- Ensure any lifting Plans are prepared and executed / signed in a timely manner, to accompany the ISSOW WCCs, Assist with the selection and rigging of lifting equipment.
- Direct and perform all assigned servicing, conditioning, fault diagnosis and restorative maintenance duties and tasks applicable to all platform lifting equipment
- Assist specialist contractor personnel as necessary in the undertaking and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance activity and tasks on associated lifting equipment.
- Ensure all relevant equipment performance and condition data is recorded accurately for input into SAP. On a daily basis between 15.00 - 15.30 hrs, Report on the Deck Teams progress & performance to the Douglas Planner, on the present workscopes
- Each evening, ensure all Deck Team activities are recorded accurately and inputted into 1SAP system and if appropriate the operation CNF’d or a % complete.
- Ensure that the daily / weekly activities are completed.
- Inform Douglas Planner of work that will not be achievable and will be required to be re-scheduled and the reasons for this.
- Adopt safe working practices in accordance with statutory and Company operating procedures at all times in relation to lifting
- LOLER Appointed Person including being capable of creating and authorising lifting plans for on pass to the OIM for final approval in absence of LOLER focal point
- Understands requirement to follow lift plans without deviations
- Permit preparation for all rigging activities, ensure all lifting and associated equipment, where necessary, has valid certification prior to commencing lifting operations. Prepare work areas which require Crane and lifting operations
- Ensure the Weekly Rigging and Lifting Gear inspections are completed and recorded in SAP.
- Maintaining Rigging Loft including certification of lifting equipment
- Order equipment for rigging / scaffolding operations for normal and shutdown operations
- Oversee all scaffolding, lifting, rigging and logistics planning
- Responsible for updating Daily Log Sheets for all Deck Crew operations
- Ensure a visible record of all scaffolds (erected & dismantled) is maintained daily, including any W/O numbers, to assist Scheduling / Maintenance Planning of work activities. Record all scaffolds over 3 months and 6 months.
- Ensure the Weekly Scaffold / Ladder inspections are completed and recorded in 1SAP and in the register.
- Record the Water & Diesel Levels, input figures into the spreadsheet
- Responsible for training and mentoring of Deck Trainees including on the job training, reviewing and sign off of CPP to ensure adherence to key stages of Competence Incentives Scheme.
