We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at The Marcliffe. This key role supports the overnight operations of our five-star property, ensuring a welcoming environment, safety, and excellent service for our guests throughout the night.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a professional, close-knit team in one of Scotland’s most prestigious hotel settings. The role reports to the Night Manager.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As Night Porter, your responsibilities will include:

- Ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of all guests overnight
- Carrying out regular floor walks, fire exit checks, car park patrols, and public area inspections
- Supporting late-night guest needs, including bar service and room service for residents
- Assisting with set-up and servicing of event rooms and housekeeping duties
- Handling basic reception tasks such as answering calls and ensuring accurate billing
- Monitoring hotel security and reporting any irregularities or safety concerns
- Maintaining clear corridors and public areas overnight
- Supporting the closure of the bar and escorting guests to rooms if required
- Following cash handling and safe procedures in line with hotel policy
- Responding promptly and professionally to guest enquiries

**ABOUT YOU**

We’re looking for someone who is:

- Customer service focused with a warm and professional manner
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently overnight
- Well-presented, with excellent communication skills
- Physically fit and able to remain on your feet for extended periods
- Strong on attention to detail, organisation, and timekeeping
- Flexible, calm under pressure, and confident making decisions
- Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential

**Additional desirable qualifications include**:

- First Aid, Health & Safety, Fire Warden certification
- Manual handling experience for event room set-up

**SALARY & BENEFITS**
- £25,480 per annum
- Full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week, including breaks)
