Budget/ Resource responsibility: To be responsible for a cash float of £1,600, Weekly Equals Card amount of £2,000 and approval level on Sicon of £500. To ensure all records are accurate and maintained in all areas pertaining to Finance.
Overall purpose of Role:
To maintain efficient, effective and accurate financial records and systems within College and Satellite services according to Ambito Care and Education accounting procedures and agreed college financial procedures. To demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality at all times, be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. To be proficient at problem solving and want to develop skills in a financial working environment.

**Main responsibilities and accountabilities**:

- Oversee daily financial transactions/activity within the college.
- Maintain Cash and Petty Cash book manual and computerised.
- Administer petty cash and personal allowances for service user needs and ensure that receipts are received and the cash float remains balanced.
- Weekly Petty Cash/Equal Card return to Head Office in a timely manner.
- Maintain manual and computerised records of student activity contributions and liaising with keyworkers, parents and carers to ensure payment is made in a timely manner.
- Undertake weekly banking responsibilities.
- Process stocks of supplies and consumables for Lancaster and Satellite Services.
- Process orders and approve on Sicon to ensure prompt supplier payments.
- Provide Billing information for student fees, respite and general income to Head Office.
- Collect and ensure staff expenses and checking the relevant manager approves them, before submitting to Head Office.
- Support service users to achieve social interaction and numeracy/literacy expected outcomes within the context of collecting/returning money.

**Internal contacts**
- The role of Finance Administrator involves contact with all departments within college and Satellite services. It is important to establish and maintain productive relationships with the interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient and accurate records.

**External contacts**
- Communication with parents and carers to ensure prompt payment of student activities.
- Purchase Suppliers through Purchase Ordering and Equal Card payments.
- Operational support to Head Office to support their centralised systems.

**Person Specification**

**Knowledge and experience**

**Essential**
- Grade C, GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Excellent financial skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service to the college
- Awareness of spreadsheets
- Ability to interpret and communicate college policies

**Desirable**
- Demonstrable understanding of the social model of disability
- Knowledge of software packages
- Excel and word processing

**Skills and competencies**

**Essential**
- Demonstrate IT skills with ability to use spreadsheet, databases and management information systems speedily and accurately.
- Ability to work co-operatively within a team and provide guidance and support in other administrative tasks as required.
- Good interpersonal skills to ensure effective communication with the management team, parents/carers, agencies and regular bodies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Desirable**
- Evidence of working in an Educational setting.
- Diploma in Business Administration.
- Previous experience of working in an administration role.
