Our main role is to ensure customers can turn on the tap and get world-class drinking water 24/7. We also safely transport and treat waste, returning it back to the environment.

**About the role**

Our developer services department plays a vital role in enabling growth throughout the region. They manage everything from connecting supplies for new development to adopting or building over a sewer. The design team oversees 15,000 connections every year, working with household customers, small builders and major developers.

As a Design Estimator, you’ll be responsible for designing and producing quotes for new clean water connections to our existing network. This role will require you to learn in-depth technical information about providing new water services to our customers.

This role is a 9-month fixed term contract

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Preparing designs and quotes for new water connections
- Dealing with customer enquiries
- Liaising with areas of the business regarding the delivery of new connections ensuring we are protecting our company assets
- Building and developing relationships with our customers to ensure they receive a positive experience
- Carrying out accurate work complying with company processes and regulatory requirements to agreed operational performance targets
- Identifying opportunities to change processes to improve the customer journey

**We’re looking for you to**:

- Deal with customer complaints, both written and verbal is advantageous
- Learn quickly and build knowledge of company processes and policies
- Attention to detail will be vital, as you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all work is correct and compliant
- Have good organisation and problem-solving skills
- Be able to work in a pressurised environment and meet demanding targets
- IT literate with an understanding of internal systems and processes
- Have knowledge of water network operational processes is desirable but not essential
