**THE ROLE**

Our products involve the control of motors, interfaces for controlling motion sensing, analogue amplifiers and general GPIO / Sensor interfacing. The CNC Programmer/ Operator will work as a part of the Workshop Team on writing CNC Programmes and manufacturing special parts.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**
- Writing new CNC Programmes based on drawings or manufacturing orders received from the Mechanical Production Supervisor
- Maintaining machines in the workshop to ensure they are up to date with any and all planned maintenance
- Escalating any machinery faults to Mechanical Production Supervisor for attention from a service engineer
- Safely and accurately using manual Mills / Lathes to make components
- Assist in assembling, packing and general loading and unloading
- Special parts manufacturing
- Working in conjunction with R&D on projects through to successful completion
- Liaising with Quality Control Department and/or Mechanical Design section as required
- Working with mínimal supervision to the completion of tasks within the deadline given.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**

**Education**:

- Time Served Apprenticeship or equivalent in CNC Programming or Operation, or use of CAD.

**Professional Skills**:

- Experience making components on manual Mills / Lathes
- Proven experience in programming with the use of CAD-CAM
- Experience working with R & D on projects through to completion
- Ability to plan what steps must be taken ahead of a job starting to achieve the required outcome
- Clear understanding of the production process
- Writing up check lists
- Ability to work to Mechanical Drawings
- Ability to operate a fork lift would be desirable

**Personal Skills**:

- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Confident working independently and as a part of a team
