**Job Purpose**
Research using digital footprints data needs the support of the public, the support of Government, and the support of researchers. Digital Footprints will work closely with members of the public from across society to ensure the research we enable is always done in an ethical and responsible way that people are comfortable with, balancing the safety of personal data with the enormous potential for public good.
You will also be required to work closely with communications colleagues across the partnership, facilitating internal communication and ensuring external outputs are coordinated, on-brand and on-message.
**Job description**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Website**: day-to-day management of the Digital Footprints website, including updating content, drafting and uploading news articles and blogs, and working with our web development agency to implement regular improvements to the site.
- ** Social media and audiovisual**: management of Digital Footprints social media channels, including Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube, ensuring a regular stream of engaging content, including infographics and videos.
- ** Brand and publications**: work with internal designers and external contractors to further refine Digital Footprints brand, ensuring it is implemented consistently across the partnership, including on reports and physical marketing as well as digital assets.
- ** Internal communication and coordination**: help coordinate the Digital Footprints Communications Steering Group (CSG), which brings together colleagues from across the partnership to ensure a joined-up approach, and facilitate internal communications including newsletters.
- ** External communication and coordination**: support collaboration with organisations to demonstrate the potential of affiliated and partnership campaigns.
- ** Events**: assist with running Digital Footprints events, including stakeholder roundtables and conference sessions, and represent the partnership on stalls at external events.
- ** Stakeholder engagement**: support engagement with key stakeholders, ensuring they understand Digital Footprints’ vision, strategy, and impact.
- ** Public engagement**: supporting delivery of a programme of public engagement work to measure and grow public support for Digital Footprints work.
- ** Benefit**: Support the tracking and capture of societal, economic and academic benefits arising from the Digital Footprints programme; celebrating and recognising the value of digital footprint data for research and the achievements of Digital Footprints.
**Person specification**:
**Shortlisting and Interview Criteria**
- Education to degree level or ability to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge in a public engagement or communications environment
- Excellent written communication skills - particularly the ability to translate technical or academic language into clear, accessible plain English, and deliver concise and punchy copy that can engage non-specialists.
- Excellent oral communication skills and the willingness to use them to maintain good working relationships with key partners.
- A strong sense of creative flair, with a good eye for engaging visuals.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong diplomatic skills and attitude, with the ability to collaborate and quickly form positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion and positivity, with a can-do demeanor and willingness to learn.
