Syncord Ltd are currently representing a leading contractor who are currently looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their Bradford branch. Experience in Civils, fit out and/ or Construction are essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

As an Assistant Buyer you will support the procurement team ensuring that the purchasing of supplies, material and plant for construction projects are provided to schedule and according to projected budgets.

You will be trained in to complete the following tasks:

- Ensure material and plant requisitions are processed in a timely and professional manner and place material and plant orders with approved suppliers.
- Obtaining quotes, analyse and negotiate prices with suppliers.
- Expediting orders and chasing outstanding deliveries.
- Hiring and off hiring of plant.

You will liaise with the commercial team on the cost and lead time of materials and work with your colleagues on site / projects with regards to the lead time of materials and the timing of deliveries.

Identify potential suppliers, assess reliability, and negotiate market leading rates for materials and plant and obtain competitive quotations.

Maintain the company-based procurement system and checking and approving of relevant invoices.

**Key Skills and Requirements**

You will have product knowledge of materials and plant along with UK suppliers, market prices and trends within the construction industry.

The role holder will have good, logical decision-making with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, be self-motivated and organised.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
